Problem:

The Client/Server is configured, but the we lost the  projects for most of our estimators.

 

Solution:

Chances are, your estimators had independent databases before you switched. When you switched you used the databases from just one estimator.

 

To merge projects from a stand alone workstation to the common data bases on the server, do the following:

  • Configure the workstation to run as a stand alone workstation
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\eTakeoff\RView & double click on the ETkoCnfg.exe file
  • Uncheck "Use Client/Server Configuration.

  • Open Dimension
  • Backup all of its Projects - click on this link: Backup All Projects
  • Copy or move all project folders to the main Project Folder on the server
  • Configure the workstation to run as a client/server 
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\eTakeoff\RView & double click on the ETkoCnfg.exe file
  • Check "Use Client/Server Configuration.
  • Navigate to each of the workstation's folder now located on the server and double click on the latest {Project}-ManualBackup-{##}.tpx file
  • That will open eTakeoff and start the restore process
