UPGRADE TO CLIENT SERVER V12 FOR ETAKEOFF CUSTOMERS

For Client Server v6 customers, an email was sent to the main contact of your company that describes the upgrade process. Please read over the process and click on the following link for detailed instructions.

eTakeoff Client Server 12.0 Upgrade Documentation 

We’re pleased to announce that upgrades are now available for eTakeoff Dimension 8.0 and Faircom Client/Server 12.0. Details for the upgrade will be available in the Notifications Window when Dimension is opened.

You are receiving this email because your company uses the Faircom Client/Server software. This upgrade requires a conversion to a new Client/Server database format before upgrading the Dimension application. Use the following steps to perform the conversion.


IMPORTANT: Since you use eTakeoff Dimension in a client/server environment, you will need to upgrade the Faircom Client/Server software BEFORE upgrading Dimension.

  • All users in your organization will need to close Dimension until the upgrade is complete at the server and all workstations.  
  • Please click on the following link, eTakeoff Client Server 12.0 Upgrade Documentation , for instructions on upgrading to Faircom Client/Server 12.0. This process should require about 20 minutes.
  • To complete the upgrade, you will need to download your company’s Client/Server activation license files. The main contact of your company should have received an email with a link to a zip file that will need to be extracted to use the actual license files.
  • Dimension will require anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours to convert to the new versions’ format. The timing is dependent on the size of the database files, the speed of the CPU, the size of the RAM and the speed of the disk drive. For example, it took 30 minutes to convert a 3.8 GB file on an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H@ 2.30GHz , 8 Cores, 16 GB Memory, SSD Drive.
  • Workstations will require about 5 minutes each to upgrade Dimension to the new software versions.

Because each organization’s network configuration is unique, we require that a network administrator perform this upgrade. Please forward this email to your network administrator.
