To transfer a Dimension license that also has an Add-on license, you will need to un-install the licenses on the old computer, then install the licenses on the new computer.

• First, determine if you need to transfer Dimension data as well. To transfer existing data to the new computer, see Knowledge Base article “How do I transfer a project from one computer to another?” and “How do I transfer my standards database (traces, layers, bid codes, scales and extensions) from one computer to another?” before performing the next step.

• Un-install the Add-on license:
  • Click on File/Administration/Install add-on license (Ribbon bar) or Admin/Install add-on license (Classic Toolbar)
  • Select the Add-on Product from the Add-on Product pull-down menu
  • Click on the “Un-Install” button. 

• ** Important: Please make note of the Installation Password because you will use the same one to install on your new computer.

• Un-install the main license:
  • Click on File/Administration/Install Software License (Ribbon bar) or Admin/Install Software License (Classic Toolbar)
  • Click on the “Un-Install” button.

• Install eTakeoff Dimension on the new computer. Click Here to Download eTakeoff

• Install the main license:  
  • Click on File/Administration/Install Software License (Ribbon bar) or Admin/Install Software License (Classic Toolbar)
  • Type in the new Installation password in the "Installation password" box
  • Click on the "Auto-Gen" button

• Install the add-on license:  
  • Click on File/Administration/Install add-on license (Ribbon bar) or Admin/Install add-on license (Classic Toolbar)
  • Select the Add-on Product from the Add-on Product pull-down menu
  • Type in the new add-on Installation password in the "Installation password" box
  • Click on the "Auto-Gen" button

• If you exported projects or exported your standard database in first step, import the projects and standards per the corresponding Knowledge Base Item.
